The 39-year-old "Somebody Save Me" artist is not only making headlines for his music but also for his impressive health journey, managing to maintain his favorite foods that fuel his high-energy performances.
Country Singer Jelly Roll, 39, Stuns Fans With 100-Pound Weight Loss: 'Next Year When Y'all See Me, You Won't Recognize Me'
Singer and rapper Jelly Roll has recently stunned and delighted his fans with a significant transformation, marking a key moment in his pursuit of better health with the help of his personal chef.
On October 21, Jelly Roll shared a video on Instagram featuring his chef, Ian Larios, who spoke about the dedication and hard work the musician is putting into his health during the "Beautifully Broken" tour.
Larios explained how Jelly Roll stays active while on the road by incorporating activities like basketball, boxing, and even climbing the stairs in each arena to stay fit and energized.
He highlighted that these efforts have led to impressive outcomes on Jelly Roll’s fitness path.
"He just surpassed his 100-pound weight loss," Larios shared, emphasizing the artist’s determination to embrace this change.
To complement his exercise routine, Jelly Roll has also been making changes to his diet.
Larios mentioned that before his shows, Jelly Roll reaches for one of his go-to snacks.
The "Best For Me" singer enjoys sliced bananas drizzled with honey and topped with dark chocolate as a pre-show treat.
After performing, Larios said that Jelly Roll prefers high-protein meals like chicken breast coated with either rice or potato flour.
These healthy food choices have played an essential role in supporting his progress.
In the video, Jelly Roll talked about his commitment, saying, "Next year when y'all see me, you won't recognize me."
He also shared his excitement for taking his fitness journey even further, saying, "I'm going to get under a pile of weights in a way that I never had."
Larios' update quickly gained traction online, with fans rushing to show their support and encouragement on social media.
One supporter commented, "So happy he's beginning to take care of his body!! Love him and want him to live forever!!"
Another fan said, "❤️❤️❤️ His passion is contagious. Good for him and his weight loss!" while someone else added, "Can't love this guy any more than I already do. !!!! He's the real deal ❤️ [sic]."
A different person chimed in with, "Keep it up!! You're doing great, one step at a time and you got this!"
Fans also noticed the changes in his appearance, with one remarking, "You look amazing. You're absolutely killing it. I noticed a few weeks ago when I was watching a video how much you have thinned down you can tell it in your body and your face. Way to go Jelly keep it up ❤️."
Beyond the enthusiastic response from fans, Larios has been openly supportive of Jelly Roll's progress throughout the tour. On September 16, he shared on Instagram that the singer has been "absolutely crushing" his health goals.
Larios added, "The habits he's been building are truly life changing and he's doing this while also changing lives on this 56 city tour. Excited for him to show the world he's just getting warmed up [sic]!"
Jelly Roll’s journey to better health extends beyond his tour life; it has been an ongoing commitment.
Back in May 2024, the "Whitsitt Chapel" artist reached a milestone by completing his first 5K run.
He took part in the 2 Bears 5K, which was part of the "Netflix Is a Joke" comedy festival hosted by comedians Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer.
Reflecting on that day, Jelly Roll shared, "I couldn't walk a mile when I started trying to do this back in January,"
Jelly Roll spoke with enthusiasm about how his presence inspired others, mentioning how many people told him they felt motivated after seeing him participate.
He also described the unique and fun atmosphere at the event, noting people dressed in bear costumes and others celebrating with beers alongside those pushing for personal records.
The experience left Jelly Roll feeling "really motivated" to keep working on his health. He shared that crossing the finish line with Kreischer was an emotional moment for both of them.
However, he admitted that he felt "a little tired,", adding, "It was a little bit harder than I thought it was [going to be], but it's awesome, man."
Looking ahead, Jelly Roll announced, "Next year, a half marathon! We're saying it now, absolutely!"
To prepare for that event, Jelly Roll committed to a rigorous training schedule.
In April, he revealed that he had been walking or jogging two to three miles, four to six days each week.
His routine also included 20 to 30 minutes in the sauna and six minutes in a cold plunge each day.
"I'm probably down 70-something pounds," he said, describing how far he had come.
Jelly Roll expressed confidence and anticipation about shedding more weight.
"If I feel this good down this weight, man, I can only imagine what I'm going to feel like by the time I go on tour," he shared.
His motivation was also fueled by the concern of fans who cared about his well-being.
Some of this concern was prompted when his wife, Bunnie XO, shared that he had taken a break from social media because of bullying about his weight.
Looking back on that tough time, Jelly Roll said, "I feel incredible. I'm surrounded by friends and family."
Beyond his health goals, Jelly Roll is continuing to thrive in the music industry.
He has already earned recognition from the iHeartRadio Music Awards and the Country Music Television (CMT) Music Awards.
He also celebrated earning his first four nominations for the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards.
Whether it’s his music or his health, Jelly Roll’s story continues to inspire his fans, who cheer him on through each step, eagerly waiting to see what he accomplishes next.
