Johnny Depp's former attorney has spoken out to put rumors to rest about whether she was romantically involved with him.

Camille Vasquez, who represented the actor known for his role in Pirates of the Caribbean during his highly publicized defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard in 2022, became well-known as the trial was broadcast on television.

As the trial captivated viewers, speculation began circulating online about whether there was any romance between Depp and the US lawyer, adding to the intense interest surrounding the case.

Despite the buzz online, Vasquez shared that she first heard about these rumors from her parents, who were already sure it was not true.

She made it clear that there were absolutely no romantic sparks between her and Depp.

In a recent interview with Extra, released on November 1, Vasquez firmly denied the dating rumors and even mentioned that Depp is not her type.

"I would never," Vasquez stated, who has represented other celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lopez. "Let me just go on the record here: never dated Johnny Depp. Never would date Johnny Depp. I think he's a lovely person… He's not my type."

Besides not being interested romantically, Vasquez admitted she hasn’t seen many of Depp’s films.

"Maybe Chocolat?" Vasquez said, referencing the 2001 romantic film with Judi Dench and Juliette Binoche.

Host Billy Bush asked if she had at least watched Depp in one of the famous Pirates of the Caribbean movies – since many people have. Surprisingly, Vasquez had not.

"Never to this day," she confessed. "I have not seen him in Pirates."

Although she hadn’t seen much of his work on screen, Vasquez did share that she was quite struck by Depp when they first met.

"After maybe 30, 40 minutes of speaking with him, I remember having an out-of-body experience and looking at him and thinking, 'He views the world so differently than I do'," she recalled.

"He definitely uses a different part of his brain. He's such an artist."

Back in September, Depp spoke about how his life had turned into a 'soap opera' after the trial with Heard.

While promoting his second directorial film, Modi, Three Days on the Wing of Madness, he compared his life to that of artist Amedeo Modigliani. He said: "Each [character] has their story because I'm sure we can say that I've been through number of things here and there."

"Maybe yours didn't turn into a soap opera. I mean, literally, televised."

After the trial, Depp was awarded $15 million, later reduced to $10.35 million by the court. Heard, on the other hand, was granted $2 million in damages through a separate ruling.
